Original navy blue buckram with gilt lettering to front cover and spine. Pages and plates are clean and bright, binding firm, covers overall very good, no discolouration. Lacks plate No. 7 in Vol. i, and a descriptive text leaf to plate No. 23 in Vol. ii. First and only edition of 'the most important recent publication with wonderful reproductions of the best-known carpets' (Ettinghausen 1936). From The Saeed Motamed Collection.
