This third quarter 19th century Kazak Oriental rug #8199 measures 4‘3“ by 6‘5“. It has three Shirvan stars in the center, one blue with an ivory center flanked by two green stars with red centers, surrounded by a very interesting wide ivory border containing red, blue green and brown fantasy stars up the right side. Both ends have eight pointed stars in red, blue ,green, corduvan, and sky blue. The next border contains 1/2 of a red star, five diamonds and multicolored star shapes that look like half a spider in the same color scheme. The last horizontal border has star shaped icons on an ivory ground. The rug is very asymmetric and unusual. The left hand outer border is composed of brown stacked diamonds on a red ground. One side is nice and straight, but rather off kilter. The left-hand top is a large variation of the stacked diamond motif top and bottom. The center of the rug is covered with an asymmetric geometric motif. This rug is certainly a one of a kind design. The rug is full pile. It is clean and ready to go. https://antiqueorientalrugs.com/product/antique-caucasian-kazak-oriental...
