Size: 6ft 8in x 4ft 8in (202 x 141cm).
This Malayer rug belongs to a well known group of finely woven rug with elongated medallions on a plain ivory ground. The medallion is beautifully drawn with fine detail, note how the corners of the rug are quarter medallions in a darker colour. The field is of a very cream / yellow ivory. The rug has a very soft and warm colour palette. The border is very well drawn and typical of north-west Persian weaving. a very good and decorative example of type.
The rug is in excellent condition with even wear and medium / low pile, there are a few scattered old re-weaves to the field.
The rug is suitable for normal domestic use.
The rug has been hand washed and is ready for use or display.
