This circa 1880-1900 Ningxia Chinese Oriental rug #8208 measures 3‘9“ x 3‘9“. There are five dragons in shades of blue and Chinese red. The dragons have two colors of blue checkerboard bodies with blue faces and smoke coming from their nostrils. They are facing each other in an aggressive posture and breathing fire. There are a pair of these dragons at the top and the bottom in a side view. The fifth one in the middle faces full on. These are five clawed dragons which indicates they were made for Imperial use. All is on a yellow ground. i don’t have the name for the border design. I’m sure somebody will tell me. The rug is full pile. It has complete end sides. It is clean and ready to go. The buyer pays the shipping with insurance of $50.
