Large Tibetan or Bhutanese ‘blanket’ that, when used in Bhutan, was worn as a wrap around women's garment. Made of eleven striped multi-coloured panels – with yellow and off-white featuring the tigma (cross) design predominant – that have been stitched together to make the whole. Made circa 1900 / the early 1900’s, it is constructed of wool and very tightly woven, the size is 241cm x 124cm (approximately 95in x 49in) and it is in very good condition.
