This oversized circa 1910 Laver Kerman/Yazd #8152 Oriental Carpet measures 9’8” x 17’8”. It has a one way design in a prayer motif. The ivory ground design has a tree of life with a brown trunk and branches covered in leaves and flowers in reds, blues, greens, pale blues and tobacco with 14 multicolored birds sitting in the branches of the tree. At the base of the tree are 10 deer; six male and four female munching on the foliage. There are floral motifs springing up from the ground under the tree. The dark blue border consists of deer and birds in various locations and doing various things. There are two sets of reciprocal borders with vine and meandering flowers in blue, red and ivory. The rug is evenly low most of which is in the ivory and doesn’t really show unless you are studying it. This is a fantastically beautiful rug! The ends and sides are complete. It is clean and ready to go.
