This circa 1880 Kazak Rug #8203 measures 3‘6“ by 6‘5“. It is a so-called ‘Star Kazak’. It has a red ground with nine small white crosses at the bottom of it and 10 octagonal forms of various colors filled with stars. There are two smaller guard borders around it. One is blue green and one the same color as the field. The major border has an ivory ground with a very interesting and unique crab border. It has a small outer guard border surrounded by two barber pole borders on each side of it. The rug is evenly overall low. The ends and sides are complete. It is clean and ready to go.
