Genje or other Caucasus region rug, late 19th century. The boteh are in juxtaposing directions in alternating rows. The colors are beautiful green, pink and indigo. Note the crosses in the top border. The purplish color in some of the botehs is probably fuchsin faded to a soft purple. There are a couple of small slits in the left hand border and some very slight wear in two areas shown in the last image. 125 x 245 cm
