This circa 1880 Kazak antique rug measures 5’5” x 7’2” (167 x 219 cm). This is a very beautifully designed Kazak. It has two octagonal ivory medallions at either end of a blue central medallion. It has Memling guls inside of green and ivory rectangles. In the field there are eight pointed stars and ivory rectangles, circles, different quadrupeds, combs, triangulated diamonds, and one male and one female figure all on a tomato red ground. There is a four way arrowhead border in red, ivory, blue and brown on a well saturated deep green ground. The surrounding reciprocal borders are double diamond motif. This rug has no visible restoration. It has very good pile. The ends and sides are complete. It is clean and ready to go.
