Rare 15-gul antique Tekke turkmen Torba, 143 x 44 cm., 2nd half 19th c. Complete with kilim back. Very fine knotting, 390 knts.per sq.inch and with full, velvetlike pile without any wear. Cloth like feel. Some scattered old (moth) damages. Colours, all natural: Cotton white, cochineal silk, dark green, dark blue, light blue, brown red, bright scarlet red, orange red, yellow and brown.
The bright scarlet red (as is the case with the silk and the cotton) is a bit lower in pile. Apparently there is a corrosive effect there of this specific dye.
Washed and clean. robvanwieringen@telfort.nl
