Made up of three homespun cotton panels sewn together. Painted and richly illuminated with applied gold leaf. The costumes are very detailed and luxuriously finished by the traditions of the royal court painting. Some decorative elements in clothing, especially in areas of dark colours, are not noticeable in the photograph or at a distance but are intricate and detailed upon closer inspection. a similar court scene can be compared to a kalamkari in The Metropolitan Museum of Art (Accession: 28.159.3).
