This Palace sized 1st half 20th century Mahal Persian Oriental rug measures 10’9” x 17’4” (332 x 530 cm). It has a beautifully drawn overall floral motif completely covering the blue ground. The flowers are in ivory, pale green, medium green, peach, red and three shades of blue. The design of this rug is what used to be known as ‘Crowded Kerman’ for obvious reasons. All is enclosed with a very wide major border of cartouches in light blue and dark blue on a medium green ground. Each cartouche is separated by a boteh. The inner border consists of red flowers on a peach ground. The outer minor border consists of meandering flowering vine on an ivory ground. This stunning beautiful rug is in mint condition. It has full pile. The ends and sides are complete. The rug is clean and ready to go.
