This mid 19th century antique Facralo Kazak Caucasian Oriental #7555 rug measures 3’8” x 4’4” (115 x 134 cm). It has a prayer motif with a re-entrant at the bottom (exactly where it belongs) and a six pointed star in the center in pale rust. The center of the star has a Memling gul with other various Caucasian iconographies. The field of the rug is very asymmetric and is on a medium blue ground. The major border has multi colored crosses separated by diagonal lines and various little asymmetric motifs. Check out the lines in the border…they change. The crosses are in light red, saffron, pale green and blue all on an ivory ground. This border is tightly hugged on either side by pale green reciprocal borders in a combination flower head and cross motif. It is a stunning piece of nomad art. This circa 1860 Kazak is in essentially perfect condition for its age. The ends and sides are complete. It is clean and ready to go. https://antiqueorientalrugs.com/product/7555-facralo-kazak-antique-cauca...
