Antique Afghan Baluch kilim with banded chevron design.
www.knightsantiques.co.uk
Circa 1920.
Size: 9ft 10in x 5ft 9in (300 x 175cm).
The kilim is a traditional tribal Baluch kilim, woven on a narrow loom in two strips which are then stitched together. This example has bands of chevrons in indigo blue and madder red, separated by fine bands of weft work decoration. The long kilim ends are of a stripe design.
Good original condition with some wear, (reflected in the price).
This kilim is suitable for normal domestic use, i would suggest a good underlay is used on a hard floor
