This dazzling, Star- or Sun-design Aina Khalita(mirror cover bag)textile is from the enigmatic Lakai tribe in Uzbekistan, Central Asia. This unique and unusual design textile was woven circa 1880-1900.It is made using all silk material, with original silk tassels and a silky feel and a multi-colored back. The background material is felt( wool). Textiles like these were woven as bridal dowry(marriage gifts)and would often be hung inside the tent as decoration. Certainly, a rare design Lakai textile makes a wonderful wall hanging that will add color and character to any living space.
