Khorgin (double bag) likely western Afghanistan. Plush silky pile. Finely detailed weft facing brocade on back kelims (photo 3).
Ex James Douglas personal collection. Mr. Douglas was a scholar and aficionado of Mideast tribal weaving. His research and publications focused on antique textiles of Persia, Afghanistan, and Baluchistan.
CONDITION: Pile on one bag is plush and good; the other bag with imperfections as shown. Use-wear and attrition at peripheries as shown
