Back
Ersari Turkmen chuval face with staggered rows of chuval guls, no secondary guls. Late 19th c. Generous size--35" x 58" (98cm x 147cm). Good condition. Rich stable vegetal dyes. Good pile all over. No repairs. Flatweave remaining along top and bottom edges. Selvage finishes complete. The forked motifs in the uppermost border strip across the pile face are repeated in kilim in the flatweave just above, across the top—this flatweave was originally folded back and hemmed, and shows some wear at the fold. Stiff spot along left part of upper edge. Direct contact at rjemry@gmail.com
