Striking Tibetan ‘wasp-waisted’ under saddle carpet (makden) from the 1800’s / 19th century. The colours are from all natural dyes (with the rich red and dark blue super saturated) and undyed white wool, while the warp and the weft are a mix of wool and goat hair, all hand spun. Size is 115 cm (45 inches) x 51cm (20 inches) through center strip. Ex Robert Piccus Collection (published) and in very good condition.
