"Antique Kurdish senneh Sample (wagireh), early 18th Century, featuring two golden boteh motifs. This piece was used as a trial or reference for larger rug production, typically woven with the same materials and techniques that would be used in the final rug. The Wagireh represents the design process in Kurdish rug-making, showcasing the elegance and intricacy of traditional patterns before being incorporated into the main rug. The two golden boteh motifs are a distinctive feature of the period.
This wagireh has been damaged, with parts of it missing and a small hole present. However, its borders clearly indicate that it was woven to its original dimensions, with both ends sealed, confirming its authenticity as a sample for the larger rug."
imensions: 32x38cm (approximately 12.6x14.9 inches).”
