An antique Kirghiz namad / felt embroidered Ok bash, dating between late 19th century and early 1900's . These yurt / tent textiles were possibly tent pole covers for when the tribe migrated during the change of seasons. More elaborate than the typical examples with intricate colourful motifs embroidered on the front face alongside the archaic patterns in dark brown which in itself is drawn more elaborately than standard examples. a rare tribal piece of Central Asia textile with archaic design made of felt / namad and wool embroidery with tassels finished either horse hair. size: 70cm x 36cm (28”x 14") tassels extend an extra 30cm (12”). ……..
