Ancient Veramin Full Double Bag— approx 23 × 23”
Full double bags with striped backing. Typical of Veramin, faces are comprised of alternating stripes of pile and flat weave. Appears to be very old, archaic, spiritual, and unique. Beautiful old collector’s piece very finely knotted with soft lustrous wool.
Ex James Douglas personal collection. Mr. Douglas was a scholar and aficionado of Mideast tribal weaving. His research and publications focused on ethnographic textiles of Persia, Afghanistan, and Baluchistan.
