a very rare ivory ground ground pair of antique Turkoman / Turkmen Diziyks (Camel Knee covers), made by the Yomud tribe during the 19th century. Camel Knee covers pairs are rare in their own rights but to find ones in predominantly white / ivory ground is very rare. The Diziyks were really used to decorate a camel during special occasions, mainly in wedding ceremonies. This perhaps explains their rarity. Lush wool, exceptionally fine weaving and quality is magnificent. Muted brown colours against an ivory ground.. See close up photos for a sense of the wool and colours as under sun light hard to capture the colours. Very unique and archaic motifs. In excellent condition and worthy of any collection with a fair price. size: 31cm (12”) x 20cm (8"). …..
