Dramatic and extravagant North Caucasus (possibly Zakatala?) long rug, 5 diversely drawn Hooked Diamonds on Dark Brown-Black Field, 104 x 244 cm (3'5" x 8'). Coarse, irregular weave, deep saturated reds, greens, blues, yellows and a range of natural undyed browns and blacks, knotted wool and camel hair on wool, camel and goat hair foundation; goat (and horse?)hair side finish. Good overall condition, moderate wear and corrosion, a few small old restorations.
