a fine pair of antique Turkoman / Turkmen Ok-bash (Covers for tent pole ends during migration), made by the Yomud tribe during the 19th century. Nice examples of Ok bash is rare to find; often they are opened up or missing parts. So to fund a complete pair, intact with the original polychrome tassels fully intact, with good age and in great condition is very hard to find. While functional weaving, they were bridal dowry offerings and very tribal and decorative. This pair has lush wool, exceptionally fine weaving and the quality is magnificent. Rich natural colours really pop the archaic design made of classic motifs. In excellent condition and worthy of any collection with a fair price. size of each bag: Length is 102cm (40”) = bag 60cm (24”) + tassels 42cm (16”h. Width 25cm (6”).. …..
