Antique Salar Khani Baluch pushti bag face with a repeat herati design, on a dark indigo blue ground.
Circa 1900.
Pushti were used as pillows or back rests, they were filled with wool or straw through a small opening to one side. This face from a pushti originates from the Western borderlands Afghanistan. The design is of three herati style medallions on a dark indigo blue ground. Note the design in the four corners which is typical of Salar Khani weaving.
The bag face is in good condition with slight wear and good pile, there are a few scattered old finger tip size repairs.
