Size ; 70x107 cm East anatolia, Urfa (Baby bed) In the Urfa region, the history of pile rugs, known as "palaş," dates back to ancient times. These rugs were generally woven to meet the needs of the local population. Their most distinctive feature is their longer and fluffier pile compared to other types of weaving. Material and Structure: Palaş are generally made from sheep's wool. The wool's natural colors (white, brown, and black) are used, and occasionally, they are colored with root dyes. The weaving technique can be seen as a transitional form between kilim and carpet weaving. Their high pile structure is ideal for providing both warmth and insulation during the cold winter months.
