a dynamic antique Kizil Ayak Turkmen prayer rug from the Amu Darya region, northern Afghanistan. This piece was made circa 1910 or before by a nomadic woman. This is an excellent example of a classic prayer rug with a simple yet elegant niche design. The colors used on this rug are all natural dyes with a wonderful range of madder red tones.
