Antique Turkish Konya region, Karapinar village long rug / runner of classic triple medallion design. Circa 1900. Size: 12ft 0in x 4ft 0in (365 x 121cm). A good example of a Karapinar village long rug / runner with a triple medallion design. The rug has very soft wool and a very floppy handle. The rug is beautifully drawn with superb colours through out including a soft green. Rugs of this exact design have been woven from the 18th century onwards. Note the narrow panels at each end known as lappets. The rug is in excellent condition with even wear and good pile. There is slight corrosion to the olive brown colour. The rug has been hand washed and is ready for use or display. The rug is suitable for normal domestic use. Stock Number: mt-031.
