Antique Pre-Columbian Chancay or Chimu Textile panel
Beautiful, Pre-Columbian flat woven textile panel. It is either Chancay or Chimu in origin. It may be a complete panel made from matching strips and small panels. It could have been a burial cover. Sems to be a wool, which would be either alpaca, llama or vicuna.
Good condition for age. There is one area of deterioration, which could have come from being buried in a tomb. Scattered cobbled repairs. See photographs, which were taken outdoors without a flash on a partly cloudy day. If you would like more photographs, please message me.
The textile is sewn to a backing fabric, which is then attached to a stretcher. i can remove it from the stretcher and mail only the textile so that shipping would be less. With the stretcher, shipping will be expensive. It should be framed in a shadow box for protection.
Size: Actual textile is 33” wide at top, 30” wide at bottom x 32-5/8” long average including flat woven fringe. The stretcher is 35-1/2” wide x 36” long x 3/4“ deep
UPS Ground shipping/handling to u.s. addresses only. Includes tracking number. Insurance and signature confirmation required. No returns, please ask questions for additional information.
