amli embroidered indian shawl 19th century.very good condition Circa 1860/80
Square black wool indian shawl entirely hand embroidered (Amli shawl) in the second half of the nineteenth century. Large black field surrounded by borders finely embroidered with polychrome wool thread of eight colors, with nice cornerpieces palms at the four corners. At the ends, thin borders with fringes (four sides) and wonderfull embroidered arches (mihrab) with stylized mughal inspiration floral bouquets. Excellent condition and bright colors.
Measures: 183 cm x 189 cm.
No default except two very small holes in the center black field (0.5 cm). Otherwise perfect resistance of the fabric and no sunny colors.
