moroccan arab rug - a rare example from the area of Rehamna in the region Haouz in the plains of Marrakech. The field colour is composed of different shades of wild madder and the designs, especially the portrayal of two human figures, are typical of the region. The rug dates from the mid 20th century and is in excellent condition and intact.
