Back
An antique Manastir kilim with wine jar motifs within hacilar cross motifs and crossed hands borders. In as found condition with some wear and old repairs consistent with age. Medium fine weave with wool on fine cotton warp with knotted fringe. Mixed natural and aniline dyes, colours consistent front and back. i estimate 1920s but understand it could be a little earlier. a kind Rugrabbit member and Manastir enthusiast has just told me that "Your eye-dazzler Manastir kilim likely originated in the area around Kotel in Central Bulgaria."
