Antique Lakai - Uzbek Door Surround -19th Century 34"x77"
i acquired this door surround in 1971 as part of a Lakai collection of textiles, among them several Mafrashes and Segushas. All of them old and very beautiful. This piece, like all the rest was lined with antique ikat. Unfortunately 40 years later the ikat has disintegrated from old age, Structurally the piece is sound but it does have some condition issues. There is some silk cross-stitch embroidery missing, some fading, especially in the wool felt. Plus there are several small holes. All fringes and piping is original, and other than the silk ikat nothing has been removed or added.
the measurements are:
-Outside width= 34"
-Top to bottom= 77-1/2"
-Thickness= 3-1/4"
