Although these fine pieces are woven in the traditional kilim flat weave they are not for curtains or covers. The distinctive shape, which is wider in the centre, is because they are for wear around the shoulders on ceremonial occasions such as the Berber marriage festival held every September in the village of Ilmichil. Ref 2146. Size 175 x 141 cms. See this for more interesting backgroung on this wedding ceremony http://www.journeybeyondtravel.com/news/morocco-travel/imilchil-wedding-... sold. thankyou.
