Beautiful Moroccan brocaded wedding belt from the late nineteenth century. This belt is composed of five brocaded woven part : golden thread on salmon, golden thread on dark blue background, and red, green, orange and purple brocaded silk on salmon background . Each end of the belt have four long corded fringes with trimmings and silver sequins. The side edges are sewn with cotton thread on one side and cut to the other side (as velvet). Very good condition.
Measures: 158 cm x 14.5 cm, plus 75 cm fringes.
The thickness of the handloom bright orange belt , reflects the richness of its brocade decoration, heavily influenced by the Arabo-Andalusian style. a beautiful ceremonial Moroccan piece. Its condition is really great, evidence of the presence of its original trimmings.
