Striped Silk woven man's coat 19c or "Banyan" made in Ottoman Empire for Western. This kind of antique piece collected in France was worn in Europe until the late nineteenth century and was named "Banyan". Beautiful woven satin silk, and zebra stripes. Entirely handmade, you have to appreciate all the details, slotted pockets, reverse sleeves, and especially the beautiful rustic hemp lining contrasting with the elegance of satin silk !. This Banyan is very clean and in good mint condition.Slightly frayed silk in a reverse sleeve (see pictures). Two rusted spots and a small tear in the hemp lining. Nothing too important considering its age.MORE information on www.villa-rosemaine.com/en/bourse
