Back
Baluch double bag; end of 19th c.; 65 c 166 cm (2`2” x 5`5”), front sides in perfect condition with glossy wool and extremely precise knotted, in each motive one knot (silk?) in Purple and Meder stars are made in light yellow, both may give a good indication of its age; design known from known Baluch collections (Boucher, Wisdom etc.) here as double bag (loops for closure are missing) which seams to be seldom to find; in same high quality as described in mentioned Collection pieces; bag was used as it has repairs on its Kilim back side, two nice little double-head-animals on monochrome back side, maybe a sign from owner; a “show-piece” which was also an important piece for the weavers?
