The dense weave, colours and minimal design are typical of this type and the subtle changes of colour, known as “abrash” are very attractive. There is a most unusual panel towards the bottom, in which a row of 8 point stars are woven. The close up photo shows a section of the reverse into which a brightly coloured motif has been embroidered, and this may well be the weaver’s mark.
