Back
a spectacular 14 foot long antique Anatolian marriage kilim from Aksaray. Great colours and abrash and some interesting colour variations between the left and right halves woven by the bride and groom's families. Some old reweaves visible in closeup photos from link below. As is frequently the case with such marriage kilims, one panel is slightly longer than the other but the two are not stiched together. Found in a village between Aksaray and Konya and so new the the rug and kilim world. i guess it dates from the last quarter of the 19th century but would welcome the advice of one of the knowledgeable eagle eyes on Rugrabbit.
