Not antique but the finest collectible example of a south Anatolian zili embroidered sofra (or ru-korsi) that i have yet come across. Extremely fine and skilled embroidery with great used of colour and postive/negative space in the design. Fine hand spun and dyed wool on a red wool flat weave foundation with with use of a small amount of gold metallic thread (see 2nd to last photo) and cotton for white. a dowry chest piece dating from the 1940s/50s in perfect condition. From the Reyhanli area on the Mediterranean coast near the Syrian border. An antique of the future!
