Back
Baluch prayer rug; after 1875; 88 x 122 cm (2`11” x 4`0”); Dochtar-i-Ghazi because of its main border or Timuri because of its main field design?; for the first glance a common designed prayer rug, but not easy to find a related example in Baluch literature; if you do, main filed design is mostly on blue ground, here on camel wool (guess it is real one); excellent and classic combination of colours; rare used white; highlight knots in main border were originally yellow (or green?); good wool with (partially strong) corroded black colour which gives this rug a nice relief (as shown in pictures), sides renewed, Stripe-Kilim as Ends (upper 4,5cm (2”) ,lower 6,5cm (3”));
