Rare old Shui ethnic minority baby carrier is from Gui Zhou province China. The upper section is elaborately embroidered using mostly satin stitch technique. The lower section is embroidered with a horsehair wrapped thread design. This piece is well over 90 years old. This carrier shows extensive use, probably over several generations. It shows a bit of dirt, yet it retains its beauty. Measures approx 20" x 36"
