belouch / balouch tent bag / pillow. What a marvellous pallette of rich deep colours this pillow has. There is an opening along one side which allows it to be filled in the traditional way. The method of weave and some dyes indicate that it is Belouch work from the region Farah in western Afghanistan, although the weaver has clearly borrowed a Turkoman gul for the major design. i think it dates from the first half of the 20th century.
