Anatolian Village Rug. Originally an 18th century piece, now mostly second half of the 20th century. Size: 58 x 72 inches. Once a very nice early rug. Now just a very ambitiously restored rug - reworked or should i say, worked over in Turkey, in the days before old yarns were used for repair. It still has a certain curious charm and graphic appeal, and even some utility, but it's a ghost rug or maybe better said - a zombie rug. It's a challenge to find an original section of the red field color, it's there somewhere, but you have to look real hard. That said, somehow l still kinda like it.
