moroccan berber anti atlas rug from the little known Beni Yacoub group near the town of Tata in the area known as pre-Sahara. This is an old and impeccable rug displaying the characteristic random designs and motifs of this tribe. The weaver has started by including a row of trees and rivers meander along its whole length. There is a completely different design in the rectangle and the use of a compartment which can also be square or diamond shaped is often used in their weavings.
