Really Old Bordjalu Kazak / First half 19th c.
Love the drawing of the borders, craft of the weaver, and it's slightly wonky sensibility. The three little guys in different colors is a nice touch too, is it a reference to "multi-racilism"? ;-)) Anyway, i think it is before 1850, and could even be before 1825; in any case it is not one of those later commercial Kazaks... this was hearth and home! i didn't block it because it lies flat, but i could easily get it done. The rug is "68 on one side, and 71" on the other. In width, the bottom of the rug is 48" wide and the top, 45" wide. Like i said, the rug is REAL.....has a beautiful yellow too, as well as lovely blues and greens. Striped dogs are kool too! Original sides.
