This is a single cuff from a 19th. Century Chodor chopan. In excellent condition and measuring 15" wide at the upper arm and 12" wide at the cuff and 15" from cuff to upper arm. This piece displays classic Chodor Turkoman colors and Chodor Iconography, with the figure forms resembling human forms. The fine embroidery work is done on a red trade cloth back- ground. There is a thin layer of printed cloth backing the braided front edge of the cuff but no backing to the rest; it looks as though it may never been backed at all. a little gem of Chodor Turkoman textile art.
