Antique Shahsevan Kelim, last Qtr. 19th c. Every few years i come across a "Shahsevan" kelim or rug that is both traditional and yet foreshadows the "modernist" movement in Europ@an painting that begins as the 19th century closes. This is such a piece. It is in good condition and has a few small silver dollar size holes that have been expertly re-woven. Colors palette is unusual and the dyes are all natural and excellent. a wonderful and rare kelim that even the uninitiated can see deserves to be considered as "fine art". Size: 5'5" x 10'5"
