Bogolanfini textile #2, Mali, second half 20th century, cm 166x118 ---- Bogolanfini, which translates as "mud cloth", is a long established tradition among the Bamana, a Mande speaking people who inhabit a large area to the east and north of Bamako in Mali. This piece is hand decorated and made from soft, hand woven, hand-spun cotton.
