Japan Late Edo to early Meiji era (1825-1875) a silk fukusa featuring a wonderful dreamlike iamge of an old wise-man atop a huge flying crane. Silk background is of expensive shusu silk. Plentiful fine embroidery and metallic couching. Good condition: many tiny age tears in the silk background. 26" x 28". 1975
